Financial Inclusion Fellowship

In this role, you will support research, pilot projects, and advocacy to expand low-to-moderate income households' access to community solar. More than 50% of Americans currently face little to no opportunity to participate in renewable energy owing to their income and credit status. You’ll work alongside our Senior Program Manager for LMI Inclusion on our Department of Energy (DOE) award to devise and implement alternative credit metrics to increase energy equity and grow the solar pie - and stand up some of the first low-income community solar projects in the country.

Operations Fellow

Work hand-in-glove with our CEO (an MIT Sloan Alum!) to coordinate administrative duties and office procedures for Solstice. Your role is to arrange logistics and conduct research on a variety of topics that ensures the smooth running of the office and helps to improve company day-to-day operation. You will learn from all departments of the company, and you will help on all aspects of the CEO’s work, from fundraising to sales/marketing to recruiting/onboarding new staff to building culture. Previous experience as an office manager or researcher would be an advantage, and candidates that are highly organized and detail-oriented are encouraged to apply. We’re looking for someone who isn’t afraid to dive right in, willing to learn on the fly, and eager to contribute wherever needed.

Outreach Fellow

Are you looking for on the ground startup and sales experience helping a company grow from 100 to 1000+ customers? If so, then the Outreach Fellow position at Solstice is for you! The Outreach Fellow will be responsible for supporting the entire outreach team and their sales efforts geared towards engaging with communities and households, and signing people up to join community solar projects. We’re looking for someone who isn’t afraid to dive right in, willing to learn on the fly, and eager to contribute wherever needed.
Responsibilities will include:
Fully understanding the community solar market, the Solstice customer profile, Solstice value proposition and messaging
Assisting team with sales research on new projects. This includes pulling data sets and analyzing metrics, identifying key businesses & organizations
Tracking and pulling together KPI statistics for team
Attending all team meetings and taking notes on behalf of team
Communicating our value proposition to potential customers over the phone and via email

Qualifications:
• A degree (or pursuing a degree) in business, environmental studies or related fields
• Experience (or strong interest) in sales, marketing, communications, or advocacy
• Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate effectively
• Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Excel (Salesforce a plus)
• Minimum 20 hours a week to contribute to this program (Full-time preferred)
• Excited to work in a fast-paced startup environment
• Team player mentality and positive attitude

UI Architect

Solstice, a rapidly growing seed-stage startup, is developing a web-based solar marketplace and customer engagement platform, which will serve a community solar developer’s customer-facing needs while also providing a channel for customers to learn about their community solar options, enroll, and engage with their solar garden. We are looking for a “design-geneer” to lead UIUX/front-end design and contribute to the overall development effort.

Responsibilities will include:

Work with business teams to understand solar developer and customer end user requirements

Lead all aspects of design and UIUX to create a cohesive user experience
Collaborate with lead engineer on development efforts, taking a lead on front-end

Craft project management strategy and lead product development in concert with lead engineer
Maintain and advance the digital platform based on evolving system requirements, industry trends, and technologies.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or related field
At least 5 years of professional experience as lead architect
Expertise in React/Redux UI; familiarity with node.js
Experience in building consumer applications and/or CRM/SaaS platforms

As a commercial associate, the employee will support the Commercial Director with structuring and negotiating Power Purchase Agreements (“PPAs”) for utility-scale, commercial-scale and on-site wind and solar projects for C&I clients.  3 – 5 years of wholesale energy market experience, preferably structuring PPAs or hedges, is desired.
