Solar Subcommunity

The MIT Solar Subcommunity engages students and researchers with their peers for mutual education in solar energy technology, policy, and business.

As part of the MIT Energy Club, the solar subcommunity hosts three ongoing event series:

1.       Guest Lectures – Outside speakers from the solar industry are periodically invited to speak about their work.

2.       Student Presentations – Current MIT students in science, engineering, policy, and business routinely present their research to their peers.

3.       Solar Socials – Open social events are held to build a more cohesive and integrated solar community at MIT.

The solar subcommunity maintains two e-mail listservs:

1.       Photovoltaics – A low traffic e-mail list for general announcements

2.       Solar Students – An MIT-only e-mail list for announcements and events pertaining to only the MIT community.

To join either e-mail list, contact the current subcommunity chair: Kevin Huang [contact]
